People in Blaenau Gwent, South Wales, have raised more than £1,500 so far to help the animals.
The ponies have been unable to feed sufficiently as the snow and icy conditions have stopped the spring grass from growing.
The wintry conditions are now expected to last well into April with this month on track to become the coldest March since 1962.
