Mums-to-be planning shorter maternity due to finances

Almost half of expectant mothers are planning a shorter maternity leave due to financial worries, research has found.

Some 45 pre cent of working mothers-to-be said they cannot afford to take a full year out of the job, MoneySupermarket found.

A third of the people surveyed said they would spend six to eight months at home, with one in ten saying they will only be able to take between three and six months off.
