Information sharing to tackle cyber crime

Intelligence agencies are going to operate alongside cyber security experts for the first time in an attempt to combat the growing online threat to Britain's firms.

Analysts from MI5 and GCHQ will work side-by-side with private sector counterparts to establish a new "fusion cell".

Part of the Cyber Security Information Sharing Partnership (CISP), launched today, the cell intends to provide industry with a forum to deliver details of techniques used by online attackers as well as methods of countering them.

There will be around 12 to 15 analysts working at the cell, which is based at an undisclosed location in London.
