Leeds MP slams National Health Director over Leeds closure

Greg Mulholland, Liberal Democrat MP for Leeds North West, has attacked Sir Bruce Keogh, the National Health Director over the closure of children's heart surgery at the Leeds general Infirmary:

I am demanding that #SirBruceKeogh abandons plans to fly abroad & instead come to #Leeds to explain his extraordinary & suspicious action.

Bullying, incorrect figures & cover up. #SirBruceKeogh knows what happened yesterday & that he had no basis for the closure. #scandal

Secretary of State for Health must step in & recommence #childrensheartsurgery in Leeds, suspension unjustified based on deeply suspect info

Leeds heart unit talks continue

NHS England has insisted the children's heart unit at Leeds General Infirmary remains suspended pending a review, despite claims from two local MPs about a meeting on the issue. A ban on surgery was imposed over concerns about the numbers of deaths.
