Leeds heart unit talks continue

NHS England has insisted the children's heart unit at Leeds General Infirmary remains suspended pending a review, despite claims from two local MPs about a meeting on the issue. A ban on surgery was imposed over concerns about the numbers of deaths.

MP questions hospital heart op decision

Stuart Andrew, the Conservative MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, has questioned the decision to suspend children's congenital heart surgery at Leeds General Infirmary.

He wrote on Facebook: "The decision to suspend heart surgery in Leeds raises so many questions. Why now?

"A day after court ruling and when parliament is not sitting. Questions I intend to ask."
