Davedevil skydives with umbrella in Mary Poppins stunt

A professional base jumper attempted to recreate the famous scene from Mary Poppins by skydiving with just an umbrella to guide him.

Erik Roner launched himself from a hot air balloon thousands of feet above the ground in southern California clutching the specially-made umbrella in a bid to see if it "slows you down like Mary Poppins' does".

He successfully glided through the air before strong winds tore the umbrella apart, forcing him to deploy a back-up parachute as he plummeted to the ground.
