Grand National winning jockey Ryan Mania has returned to his home town of Galashiels for a victory parade. Earlier today the jockey was released from hospital following a fall at Hexham the day after the National.

Katherine Jenkins 'proud' to sing at Grand National

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins sang God Save The Queen after the first race of the day, the John Smith's Aintree Legends Charity Race.

The Welsh mezzo-soprano said: "As a child, I remember my parents placing nominal bets and us all cheering on the horses from our living room. To be involved in such an important milestone for the race is a great honour and something I am proud to be a part of."
