John Mann MP attacks state subsidy for Thatcher funeral

The Labour MP for Bassetlaw, John Mann, has weighed in on the debate about subsidising Margaret Thatcher's funeral with taxpayer money:


My grandad left enough to pay for his own funeral and wake. Not a penny more. Just his military medals. No state subsidy for the old soldier

Thatcher's coffin in Parliament

The body of Baroness Thatcher is in a chapel inside the Houses of Parliament, where a service was held for MPs, peers and parliamentary staff. Her funeral takes place today.
