The body of Baroness Thatcher is in a chapel inside the Houses of Parliament, where a service was held for MPs, peers and parliamentary staff. Her funeral takes place today.

Baroness Thatcher's coffin bearers named

The Ministry of Defence has announced the names and details of the Bearer Party who will carry the coffin of Baroness Thatcher at her funeral on Wednesday.

The Bearer Party is made up of eight personnel from all three Services, including those from ships, units and stations notable for their service during the Falklands Campaign. The party includes:

  • Able Seaman Thomas Baker, 22, from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, Fleet Air Arm.
  • Corporal John Caulfield, 30, from 40 Commando Regiment, Royal Marines.
  • Sergeant Jason Buffham, 30, from 4th Regiment Royal Artillery.
  • Corporal Carl Spence, 29, from 9 Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers.
  • Lance Sergeant Paul Quayle, 31, from F Company Scots Guards.
  • Lance Corporal James Steel, 24, from 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.
  • Lance Corporal Adam Jones, 23, from Queen’s Colour Squadron RAF.
  • Lance Corporal Tej Pun, 31, from 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles.
