The Queen has sent a private message to the US president Barack Obama following the bombings at the Boston Marathon, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The wording of the message has not been disclosed but the Queen is likely to have expressed her sympathy for the victims of the attack whichkilled three people and left more than 170 injured.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: "The Queen has sent a private message to president Obama following yesterday's events in Boston."
New photos of the suspects identified by officials as Dzhokar A. Tsarnaev, 19 and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 have been released.
