Police seek suspects 'with stings' after 1,000 bees killed

Police are hunting a vandal who may have been treated for countless bee stings after more than 1,000 of the insects were killed in an attack on their hives.

Nine hives were scattered at Bodelwyddan Castle, North Wales, causing its entire stock of bees to be destroyed, police said.

A spokesman for North Wales Police appealed for information, saying: "The offender or offenders scattered the hives around the location and damaged the frames.

"They would have suffered bee stings as a result of disturbing the bees."
