Commons expected to sit for 140 days in 2013

  • The House of Commons sits on average around 150 days a year
  • Over a two year period from 2006 to 2008 the Commons sat for 304 days
  • But this year, the Commons is expected to sit for less than 140 days


MPs told they risk looking lazy

The senior MP who chairs the Commons spending watchdog has warned her colleagues that they risk being seen as lazy because the amount of time they spend in Westminster appears to be getting less and less.
