Librarians at the National Library of Wales have appealed to volunteers to stay away from the centre while staff try to assess the damaged caused by a major fire in the roof of the building yesterday.

ITV Wales understands that staff are seriously concerned that water from the fire fighter's hoses may have caused serious damage to large parts of the historic collection.
