Hammond: Troops still face huge risks in Afghanistan

Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary, has said that the three soldiers killed in Helmand, Afghanistan, were engaged in protection work.

He added: "This is a very timely reminder that there are still tremendous risks for our forces [in Afghanistan]."

Afghan bomb soldiers tributes

The families and friends of three soldiers killed in Afghanistan have been paying tributes to the men. Corporal William Savage, Fusilier Samuel Flint and Private Robert Hetherington died in a bomb attack on Tuesday.
