A woman who was heavily pregnant is in a critical condition and several others were seriously injured following a collision in Manchester last night, Greater Manchester Police have said.
The woman’s baby, was delivered in hospital by emergency caesarian section following the collision, and is making good progress, police said.
At the time of the collision, a silver VW Golf undertook another vehicle and collided with a black cab carrying four people (including the driver) at around 10.45pm.
The 19-year-old driver of the Golf was not injured during the collision. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and other driving offences.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
