Manchester City to set up club in New York

Manchester City has announced that will set up a new football team in the US - to be called New York City Football Club - in partnership with baseball team the Yankees.

The team will be the 20th Major League Soccer franchise in the US and will begin competing in 2015.

Manchester City, who will spend about £66 million on the franchise, will be the majority owner of the club, while the Yankees will own a quarter.

Manchester City will play a friendly match against Chelsea on Saturday at the Yankee Stadium.
