Speaker 'suspends House passes'

Speaker John Bercow has reportedly ordered the suspension of more than 80 House of Commons passes amid concerns over lobbying.The Government will bring forward a bill to introduce a statutory register of lobbyists by the summer, Downing Street said.

Lobbying scandal is 'hugely embarrassing for all'

Andrew Pierce, Daily Mail consultant editor, said the scandal of the three peers who face inquiries into claims they offered to use their influence in Parliament in return for money, is "embarrassing for all".

Appearing on Daybreak, he asked why nothing has been done by politicians about this before.

"It's the same old same old excuses from the same old sleazy politicians", he said.

"It's hugely embarrassing," Daily Mirror associate editor Kevin Maguire said.

"To be fair to Nick Clegg, he has been pushing this agenda for a long time, but he's a minority in the coalition and David Cameron was not interested for all that time."
