RBS has a capital shortfall of £13.6bn

A capital shortfall of £27.1 billion has been identified at eight UK banks, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) said.

These include:

  • RBS has a shortfall of £13.6 billion
  • Lloyds has a shortfall of £8.6 billion
  • Barclays has a shortfall of £3 billion

Five banks have only raised half the money needed in reserve to cover their risks, the Prudential Regulation Authority has announced. RBS is the regulator's biggest concern, with a shortfall of £13.6 billion.
