Report: Officials begin steps for Snowden extradition

The Washington Post said prosecutors now have 60 days to file an indictment and can then take steps to secure Edward Snowden's extradition from Hong Kong for a criminal trial in the United States.

The newspaper said Mr Snowden would be able to challenge the US request for his extradition in court in Hong Kong, where he is understood to be hiding.

WikiLeaks 'helps Snowden asylum'

WikiLeaks has claimed that it helped with US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden's "political asylum in a democratic country, travel papers and safe exit from Hong Kong".
