Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has announced that she will no longer claim personal expenses from July.
The Mid Bedfordshire MP said that she will stop claiming for the costs of her second home, travel expenses and council tax and will instead fund these through her salary.
The Conservative MP is currently under a Westminster investigation in to expenses claims. In a statement on her website Ms Dorries said:
"However, separate from the investigation, I have made the decision to stop claiming any personal MP expenses and to fund my role as an MP from my salary. In effect this will take most of my salary, which means I will be representing Mid Bedfordshire for free!"
Ms Dorries said she will still claim the costs of running her office, postage and staff salaries and constituency mileage.
