Doctors advised 'turning Mandela life support off'

Former South African President Nelson Mandela was in a "vegetative state" and doctors advised that his life support should be turned off, AFP reports citing a court document dated June 26.

President Jacob Zuma said today that Mandela remained "critical but stable" in hospital.

Former South African President Nelson Mandela is "responding to treatment", according to an official statement tonight, but is still in a critical condition in hospital.
