Faulty goods untraced by recall

Britain's senior fire officers have told ITV's Tonight programme that an unprecedented number of faulty electrical goods remain in people's homes, as manufacturers' safety alerts fail to trace them.

Recalled Beko products in homes in UK and Ireland

  • 66,320 faulty cookers manufactured by Beko before December 2008 were sold in the UK and Ireland
  • More than 10,574 could still be in people's homes

Many similar appliances are safe, you can check your model and serial numbers on Beko's website

  • 32,290 tumble dryers produced in 2012 were sold that can cause fires. Although it was a highly successful recall, 7,510 are still out there
  • 492,000 frost free fridge freezers were made between 2000 and 2006 with a fault that means they can catch fire. 114,977 are still in homes

None of the affected products are in production anymore.
