Police 'determined' to bring Oxfordshire siege to a close

Thames Valley Police said it is "determined" to end a siege at a house in Oxfordshire "as soon as possible".

Local Policing Area commander Superintendent Christian Bunt said:

It is believed the man is armed, although no indication has been given that he wishes to harm the children.

We are doing all we can and our officers are determined to bring this situation to a close as soon as is possible.

Armed siege twins' father is held

A man who held his two-year-old twin daughters in an armed siege at a flat in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, has been arrested. His daughters were released earlier in the afternoon.
