Athletics scandal becomes criminal investigation

Italian police raided the hotel where Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell is staying, and seized a number of supplements. Powell says they were given to him by his physiotherapist, and that he hopes to clear his name.

As he and other athletes await further test results, ITV News has had exclusive access to one of the labs fighting against drug cheats.

Athletes 'given supplements'

Paul Boyle, manager of Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson, has told ITV News the athletes were given 'supplements' by their physiotherapist. He says if any of the supplements were not legal, they had been supplied unwittingly.
