Bank robber's note: "£5,000 now - shush or I'll shoot"

Detectives are hunting a bank robber who held up a bank using a handwritten note that he gave to staff which read "£5,000 now, Shhh or I'll shoot".

The man walked into NatWest on Bolton Road, Irlams O’ Th’ Height in Greater Manchester and demanded the cash.

A cashier handed over an amount of cash and the man left, although police said no weapon was seen.

Police are looking for a man described as white, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall, of slim/athletic build, in his late 20s or early 30's, with a sallow complexion, pock marks on his cheeks and stubble.

The robbery took place around 3.15pm on Tuesday 11 December 2012.
