Stella Creasy complains to police after Twitter rape threats

Labour MP Stella Creasy has complained to the police after she was threatened with rape on Twitter for supporting the feminist campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez.

Ms Creasy, who represents Labour in Walthamstow, retweeted some of the messages she received under the hashtag #takebacktwitter, before warning her abusers that she would report them to the police and "ensure action" was taken.

New Twitter abuse arrest

A 25-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of harassment by officers investigating Twitter abuse aimed at Caroline Criado Perez, 29, and Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy, Scotland Yard said.
