PM foregoes deerstalking because of 'bad back'

The Prime Minister has foregone his traditional holiday activity of deerstalking this year because he is suffering from a "phenomenally bad back," he told the BBC.

David Cameron has been on vacation with his family on the Hebridean island of Jura off Scotland's west coast.

In previous years he has stalked the red deer which live there in abundance, but says he now prefers a "stiff walk" after suffering from a protruding disc.

He said that stalking involves "a lot of crawling through the heather, sometimes for a very, very long time" and that he did not think he could bear it..
