The comedian Jim Davidson has claimed people were "making allegations for the sake of it" after the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to charge him after a police investigation into historical sex claims.

No further action over 53-year-old's Yewtree arrest

A 53-year-old man arrested in Hampshire in January, as part of Operation Yewtree - the police investigation prompted by the Jimmy Savile abuse scandal - has been told no further action will be taken against him.

Referring to both the 53-year-old and Jim Davidson, the CPS said there was "insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction".
