The England cricket team said they did not mean to "disrespect" Surrey Cricket Club and apologised for their "inappropriate behaviour" amid reports that several players urinated on the Oval pitch after winning the Ashes.

Watson's record hit helps Australia dent England bid

Australia's attempt to deny England a historic 4-0 Ashes series victory has begun strongly after the tourists ended 307-4 on the first day of the 5th Test at The Oval.

Michael Clarke's team were indebted to Shane Watson, who hit a career best 176 against a new-look England bowling attack that included surprise call-ups Chris Woakes and Simon Kerrigan.
