Microsoft in Nokia phone deal

Microsoft has offered to buy the mobile phone division of the Finnish firm Nokia for £4.6 billion. Any deal would be subject to approval from Nokia shareholders. The companies have been cooperating on mobile phone software since 2011.

Nokia shares jump 40% after Microsoft deal

Nokia investors have welcomed the Finnish firm's deal with Microsoft, sending shares in the company up more than 40% in Helsinki during trading today.

However, Microsoft shares fell almost 6% in early trading on Wall Street.
