Clarkson threatens to run against Miliband at election

Jeremy Clarkson has hinted that he could run for Parliament at the next General Election - standing against Labour leader Ed Miliband.

The Top Gear presenter suggested on Twitter that he might stand as an independent candidate for Mr Miliband's constituency Doncaster North:

I'm thinking I might stand in the next election as an independent for Doncaster North, which is where I'm from. Thoughts?

It was unclear whether Mr Clarkson was seriously considering a move into politics.
