Ferguson: Rooney 'back to what we always remember'

Sir Alex Ferguson has given his first interview to Manchester United's in-house TV station since he retired as the club's manager.


Sir Alex in an exclusive interview with #MUTV: "I've enjoyed my retirement. I left at the right time. It was a great period of my life."

He heralded the return to form of Wayne Rooney, a player he was said to have fallen out with at the end of last season:


Sir Alex on @waynerooney: "I thought Wayne was fantastic [on Tuesday]. He's got his energy back, his determination, his purpose to attack."
