Year-on-year growth boost for Britain's retail sales

Retail sales in Britain grew by 2.1 per cent between August 2012 and 2013, according to new figures released by the Office for National Statistics.

However, from July to August of this year, the quantity of products bought by customers mainly online and through mail order actually fell by 0.9 per cent.

In the same period, the price of retail goods slowed down by 0.2 per cent.
