Chinese technology firm UMi is bringing its budget smartphones to the UK to take on the current Android market.
UMi phones are currently available for sale on its Europe website, and from October 20, will be available at select retailers in the UK and Ireland along with other European countries.
There will be two models for sale initially. The S1, is an entry level 5in HD quad core smartphone is priced at £189.
The X2, has a 5in HD touchscreen, 1.5Ghz quad core processor and 13 megapixel camera, retailing at £209, it will rival the Sony Xperia Z, the company said.
"The market in Europe is dominated by a handful of large brands offering phones that are honestly not a very good value for money deal, a spokesman said.
"UMi now wants to bridge that gap by offering low cost smartphones that don't compensate on specifications and quality."
