Protesters halt European match

The Champions League match between Basel and Schalke had to be temporarily halted after Greenpeace activists abseiled from the stadium roof and unveiled a banner protesting against energy firm Gazprom and oil drilling in the Arctic.

Abseilers descend from Basel stadium roof

At least four abseilers were seen descending from the room of Basel's St Jakob Park stadium with a banner protesting against Arctic oil drilling by Russian energy firm Gazprom.
