A Greenpeace protest has halted a Champions League match between Basel and Schalke in Switzerland.

Protesters abseiled from the roof of the St. Jakob Park stadium and unveiled a banner aimed at Russian energy firm Gazprom, which sponsors the tournament.

Protesters halt European match

The Champions League match between Basel and Schalke had to be temporarily halted after Greenpeace activists abseiled from the stadium roof and unveiled a banner protesting against energy firm Gazprom and oil drilling in the Arctic.
