A worker suffered severe damage to her left arm after she stuck it in a tiger enclosure at an animal park in central Oklahoma and was unable to withdraw it before the big cat clawed her, according to the Associated Press.
Park owner Joe Schreibvogel said the attack happened at about 10am local time and the woman underwent surgery several hours later. He said doctors are trying save her arm.
Mr Schreibvogel, owner of the Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnewood, said the arm was still attached and the young woman was conscious and able to talk and move her fingers when she was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital.
He added that the worker violated protocol by putting her arm in the cage.
