Barrage of bomb blasts across Iraq kill at least 51

A barrage of car bomb and suicide bomb blasts has rocked Baghdad and two northern communities killing at least 51 people during a major holiday period.

Authorities reported seven car bombs across the Iraqi capital shortly after nightfall, including one near a playground that killed two children.

It followed a car bomb in the ethnic minority village of al-Mouafaqiyah in northern Iraq, and another a few hours later in Tuz Khormato.

The attacks struck as Muslims around the world this week mark the religious holiday of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice.
