Prime Minister David Cameron has lauded the "extraordinary bravery" of the police at an award ceremony held to mark their acts of courage.
Speaking at the Police Bravery Awards in London tonight, he said: "From the bottom of my heart and from the Home Secretary, and everyone in the government, thank you for what you do."
