Police Bravery Awards: Regional winners

  • North West: Constables Nathan Jackman and Peter Stevens for tackling a knifeman and saving a victim's life
  • North East: Off-duty Constable Sara Widdrington for tackling a supermarket gunman
  • West Midlands: Constables Stephen Fletcher and Rory Stuart-Knill after being attacked by a petrol bomb gang
  • Eastern: Constable Martin Bentley for chasing a knifeman despite being stabbed
  • Wales: Constable Alun Morgan for braving icy water in a quarry to rescue a boy from drowning
  • South West: Constable Nicholas French for tackling a man armed with a knife and a lawn edger
  • South East: Pc Ian Dibell, was killed when he tackled a gunman near his home in Clacton-on-Sea in July last year. He also won the national award.
  • London: Constables Stephen Barker, Thomas Harding, Shumal Haque, Alastair Hinchliff and Andrew Robb confronted a knife-wielding man in a butcher's shop.
