A controversial Government trial which featured poster vans telling illegal immigrants to "go home" will not be rolled out nationwide, ITV News understands.

The scheme was being tested in London but only one immigrant took up the offer from the Home Office.

Home Secretary Theresa May is due to announce the scrapping of the plans in the Commons this afternoon.
