Five suspects linked to the fatal Tiananmen Square fireball car crash have been arrested, Chinese state media reported today.
The three people who died in the jeep were a man, his mother and his wife, the official Xinhua news agency reported, giving names which appeared to identify them as ethnic Uighurs, a Muslim people who come from China's restive far western region of Xinjiang.
Chinese authorities were calling it a car accident. But now they are hunting suspects in what could be Beijing's first major suicide attack.
There is clearly a security operation underway to deal with what state media has been calling an accident.
