A spokesman for Jersey Coastguard has confirmed the search for two men missing in a dinghy is being handed over to the better-resourced French Coastguard, with the search area growing to more than 100 square miles.
The pair were headed towards Les Ecrehous reef, situated about halfway between Jersey and France, when they were reported missing.

The crash happened near to the town of Perpignan, around 20 miles north of the country's border with Spain.
