Blackadder makers hint at potential new series

The makers of Blackadder have suggested that there could be another series of the classic TV comedy, with writer Ben Elton saying the show is "not finished".

Elton told the Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine: "Blackadder is not finished. We’ll never officially close it down…ever."

The show's producer added that the 1989 fourth series Blackadder Goes Forth, which culminated with a moving First World War battlefield scene, may not be the end of Edmund Blackadder's journey through history.

John Lloyd told Event: "It was always the idea that the last episode would be this tragic thing, but I don' think we ever decided that it would be the last series. And I suppose in many ways we still haven’t decided."
