Firefighters work to pull survivors from train wreckage

Firefighters have been working to help pull people from the wreckage of the commuter train which derailed at 7:20am local time (12:20pm UK time).

At least one rail car from the derailed commuter train is lying near the Hudson River, with rescue workers searching for survivors along the shoreline and waterway.

Derailed US train at three times the speed limit

A New York commuter train that derailed on Sunday, killing four people, was travelling at nearly three times faster than the speed limit, officials said.
