Iran says it has successfully sent a second live monkey into space, according to state media.

The monkey – known as ‘Fargam’ or Auspicious – is the second sent into space this year as part of a programme aimed at manned space flight.

The success of the first monkey mission was disputed when photos released after the landing did not appear to match up.
