Ireland has been battered by 90mph winds today leaving one woman dead, several others injured and thousands of homes without power.
A woman died after a tree fell onto her car near Mullingar, County Westmeath, and another person was injured when part of a railway station roof blew onto her car in Cork.
Met Eireann, the Irish Meteorological Service, has issued its highest severe weather warning for the west and northwest of the country.

Police say they have traced four drivers who are thought to have hit the woman, and added that a fifth vehicle may also have been involved.
