Writing on his blog, May said that the music still sounds "fresh" and hinted that it may be set for release, writing: "It's crying out to be finally brought into the world."

The guitarist, who also revealed that he has just been given the all-clear from cancer, confirmed that the track features himself, Mercury, drummer Roger Taylor and former bassist John Deacon.

"Some Queen magic is happening...I feel it in my bones," he wrote. "It's annoying to have to be so secretive, but I guess I have to, for now.

May said that hearing the track had made him "quite emotional" and said that as well as music, the recording features rough takes and "discussion and banter".
