Jury in Bill Roache trial retires to consider verdicts

The jury in the trial of Coronation Street actor William Roache has retired to consider its verdicts. Roache denies two counts of rape and four counts of indecent assault.

Corrie actors expected to give evidence at Roache trial

Actors from Coronation Street are expected to be called to the witness box today at the trial of fellow star William Roache.

Anne Kirkbride, who play's William Roache's on-screen wife Deidre Barlow, Chris Gascoyne, his son Peter Barlow in the soap and actress Helen Worth, who stars as Gail Platt, are expected to give evidence in Roache's defence.

Roache, 81, of Wilmslow, Chesire, denies two counts of raping a 15-year-old girl in east Lancashire, and four indecent assaults involving four girls aged between 11 or 12 and 16.
