Hollywood actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died after suffering an "apparent drug overdose", according to the New York Police Department.
He had admitted to struggling with drug addiction in the past but had reportedly been clean for 23 years before a relapse last year.
In a 2006 interview, he said: "I went to rehab, I got sober when I was 22 years old,"
"You get panicked... and I got panicked for my life", he added.
